How to Save Seeds from Peppers for Planting:
For saving seeds from peppers, you should follow my method, which I explain in the steps below.
- Step 1: First, take a big, healthy, and fully ripened pepper from a healthy plant that is not damaged by pests or diseases.
- Step 2: The second step is cutting the pepper and opening it carefully so the seeds don’t drop. Now, put all of the seeds into a bowl.
- Step 3: In this step, we will separate the viable seeds from immature seeds. We can do that by pouring water into the bowl. By doing it, the viable seeds will sit at the bottom of the sink, and the pulp and immature seeds will float, which we wanted.
- Step 4: Now pour off the water from the bowl with immature seeds. Now rinse water from those viable seeds.
Now, take the seeds out of the bowl, and you have to dry them, which is defined in another phase.
How to Dry Pepper Seeds for Planting:
Drying your pepper plant seeds is very important; only dry seeds are viable for growing into a whole pepper plant. So, to dry your pepper plant seeds, you need to put them on a paper towel or a drying mat if you have any. Now, please place them in a well-ventilated area for a week or so. After completely drying, put it into a bottle and place it in a cold, dry place to prevent mold growth. Now you might think how long to dry pepper seeds before planting well it take .Will the pepper take about one to two week to fully dry, and these seeds are viable for another 4 to 5 years.
How to Store Pepper Seeds:
After drying the seeds now its time to store those seeds for future. So for storing you, get a bottle and put your seed in it. Then keep the bottle in dark, cold place to prevent mold growth. You can also label the bottle if you have more then one bottles.
